October 2020 - Private Hospitals Update

As the local Corona Virus lockdown has been eased, the capacity for both private out-patients and surgery has increased. We are now able to offer regular, prompt, out-patient appointments, as well as more frequent, scheduled operating lists. At present, the waiting time for private surgical procedures by Mr Taylor is a small number of weeks, depending on the complexity of the surgery required. Urgent private cases can now usually be accommodated at short notice. Further information can be obtained from Jan, Mr Taylor's secretary - please do get in touch with any queries.

June 2020 - Corona Virus Update 2

At present, the Corona virus situation continues to prevent the routine running of out-patient clinics or operating lists, either in the NHS or private sector. Mr Taylor is still offering private consultations via telephone or video call and these have been approved for funding by the majority of private medical insurance companies.

It is hoped that clinics may begin later this month, most likely on a reduced capacity basis, to ensure appropriate social distancing is maintained. In an emergency, Mr Taylor can be contacted via the usual number - 01202 551144. Please continue to check back here for regular updates and stay safe everyone.

June 2020 - Corona Virus Update 3

We are pleased to advise that there is now capacity to carry out face to face out-patient consultations in the local private hospitals, as well as continuing with telephone consultations, where required. There are also now procedures in place to begin operating in the private sector, with the aim being to start a limited amount of private operating by the end of July, slowly increasing in volume into August.

The recommendation initially is to operate on patients below the age of 65, with no significant medical problems, apart from patients presenting with urgent conditions. If you have been listed for surgery, Mr Taylor will discuss this with you in more detail. Do check back here regularly for continuing updates.
